PRODUCT OVERVIEW
When it was new, reviewers praised the 2011 GMC Yukon SLT comfortable interior, but they also liked that the Yukon drives like a smaller SUV. With good crash test scores and seating for up to nine with the available front bench seat, the Yukon is a good choice for large families. The Yukon also has good fuel economy ratings for the class.
While the 2011 Yukon has a lot going for it, reviewers saw some room for improvement. Competitors like the 2011 Ford Expedition offer a third-row seat that folds flat into the floor, but on the Yukon, you’ll have to remove it to expand cargo space. However, once it’s out, the Yukon has ample cargo space. If you need even more room for cargo, you might want to step up to the slightly larger Yukon XL, which offers comparable interior space with the 2011 Chevrolet Suburban.
Both Yukon models are powered by a 5.3-liter V8 with either rear- or four-wheel drive. Regardless of which model you choose, the Yukon gets 15/21 mpg city/highway. The Yukon can tow up to 8,500 pounds, while a heavy-duty Yukon XL can tow up to 9,600 pounds. A more powerful and luxurious Denali trim is available on both the 2011 Yukon and Yukon XL.
Reviewers liked the Yukon’s good interior quality when it was new. Standard equipment includes power windows, door locks and mirrors, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and tri-zone climate control. Available features included power-folding middle-row seats, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, navigation and a power liftgate. The 2011 Yukon didn’t change much since its 2007 redesign, so you might be able to save some money by shopping for an older model.
