PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Reviewers said the 2011 Sierra 1500 has accurate steering, and that it’s pretty maneuverable for a full-size pickup truck. Still, one critic thought that the Sierra’s ride is a little harsh when the bed is empty. Those who tested the base V6 engine said that it could use more power, but three V8s are available, and test drivers particularly liked the 5.3- and 6.2-liter V8s for their ample power output. A two-wheel drive Sierra with the V6 engine achieves 15/20 mpg city/highway, which is on par for the class. The Sierra can tow up to 10,700 pounds when equipped with the 6.2-liter V8.
Reviewers were pleased with the quality materials and good fit and finish they found in the Sierra’s cabin. Regular cab models seat up to three people, while extended and crew cab models seat up to six. The top Denali trim is only available as a crew cab. Reviewers said that the front seats are spacious and comfortable, and that crew cab models also offer a roomy second row. Like most full-size pickups, the base Sierra comes with air conditioning and a stereo with a CD player, but not much else. Available features include power windows, door locks and mirrors, as well as a USB port, Bluetooth, a Bose stereo with a CD changer, navigation, leather seats, power-adjustable heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a backup camera, a sunroof and a back-seat entertainment system.
